SNingxia Hunan ± 800 kV High Voltage Direct Current Transmission Project
The Ningxia–Hunan ±800 kV Ultra-High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) transmission line project is China's first UHVDC transmission corridor primarily designed to deliver renewable energy from "deserts, Gobi, and barren lands" wind and solar power mega-bases. It starts from the Zhongning Converter Station in Zhongwei City, Ningxia, and ends at the Hengyang Converter Station in Hunan, passing through six provincial-level regions (autonomous regions and municipalities): Ningxia, Gansu, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Hubei, and Hunan. The total line length is approximately 1,633.5 kilometers, with a rated voltage of ±800 kV and a designed transmission capacity of 8,000 megawatts . As a key project of the 14th Five-Year Plan for Electric Power Development, it is supported by a supporting power source installed capacity of 17,640 megawatts. After commissioning, it will deliver 36 to 40 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity to Hunan annually, of which the share of renewable energy will exceed 50%.

The Zhalute Converter Station is a ±800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current (UHVDC) converter station located in Zhalute Banner, Inner Mongolia. It serves as the sending-end starting point of the Zhalute–Qingzhou ±800 kV UHVDC transmission project. This project was put into operation on December 31, 2017, with a total line length of 1,234 kilometers, a rated transmission power of 10,000 megawatts, and an annual designed transmission capacity of 55 billion kilowatt-hours. Its core task is to deliver electricity from Northeast China to Shandong, alleviating regional power curtailment and facilitating the integration of renewable energy.

Qinghai Hainan Tala Substation Project
The Qinghai Hainan Tala Substation Project is located in the southern part of Tala, Chabuqia Town, Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with an altitude of 2944 meters. It is situated in an area with low pressure, oxygen deficiency, severe cold, and strong wind radiation, and is the hub substation of the Guoluo Interconnection Project. The final scale of the station consists of three 2100 megavolt ampere main transformers, 11 750 kV outgoing lines, and 15 330 kV outgoing lines.

The Shanghai Temple–Shandong Linyi ±800 kV Ultra-High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) transmission project is one of the major "Four Horizontal and Four Vertical" corridors under China's 13th Five-Year Plan for energy conservation, emission reduction, and West-to-East Power Transmission. It is also a key project of the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan, constructed by the State Grid Corporation of China. The project was approved on December 1, 2015, and construction began on December 15, 2015. It starts from the Yikezhao Converter Station in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, and ends at the Yinan Converter Station in Linyi, Shandong, passing through six provinces and regions. The total line length is 1,230 kilometers, with a rated transmission capacity of 10,000 megawatts. It is the DC transmission project with the highest transmission power in China, and among the first to adopt layered access technology and be equipped with synchronous condensers.

Lingzhou Converter Station Projec
The Lingzhou Converter Station ± 800 kV High Voltage Direct Current Transmission Project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in August 2014. The project is located about 3.2 kilometers east of Shigouyi in Lingwu City, Ningxia, with a total land area of 27.4 hectares. The project started leveling on September 12, 2014 and was completed in June 2016. This project is the first to use 750 kV converter transformers and 750 kV AC filters, and is the first ± 800 kV high-voltage direct current transmission project connected to 750 kV on the grid side.

Baota Mountain ±800 kV Converter Station
The Shaanbei–Anhui ±800 kV ultra-high-voltage direct current transmission project—commonly referred to as “Shaanxi Power Entering Anhui”—is a key project under the national “14th Five-Year Plan” for power development. The project originates at the Baotashan Converter Station in Yan’an City, Shaanxi Province, and terminates at the Hezhou Converter Station in Hefei City, Anhui Province, traversing Shaanxi, Henan, and Anhui provinces. With a total line length of 1,070 kilometers, the project boasts a total investment exceeding RMB 80 billion. Its supporting power sources include 4 million kW of coal-fired capacity, 11 million kW of wind and solar renewable energy, and a 2.2 million kW energy storage system. This project is designated as Anhui Province’s “No. 1 Project” for ensuring energy and electricity supply during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and it represents the first UHV DC transmission corridor in China that achieves full consumption of a high share of renewable energy. Upon commissioning, it will deliver over 36 billion kWh of electricity annually.
